<description>To celebrate Earth Day 2009 Friends of the Cheat had about 10 volunteers come out on Saturday April 18th to take part in their Adopt a Highway clean-up. 28 bags of garbage was collected on the strip of Highway that starts in Albright &amp; goes north on Rt 26 for about 3 miles. The second event that fell in line with Earth day was a native tree planting event on Briery Mountain Wildlife Management Area on April 21st,22nd, &amp; 24th. This project was a cooperative effort between Friends of the Cheat, Camp Dawson, and the Mountaineer Treeways Program.
